Affluent UK families are more and more looking to boarding schools in continental Europe as soaring private school fees drive them to pursue more affordable choices internationally.

Swiss institutions have observed a significant increase in inquiries from UK parents who are facing increased fees at home, following the application of a 20% VAT on independent schooling by the current government.

In contrast, the number of US students with families living in the UK rose from 4,367 to 4,728 over the same period. Those from Chinese families also grew from 4,551 to 4,701.
