The US-based enterprise Waymo has declared that its self-driving cabs will be on offer for use on London's roads starting next year.

London will be established as the pioneering European city to launch an autonomous taxi service, similar to those already operational in multiple US cities and four other American urban centers employing Waymo's innovative systems.

Waymo stated that its cars are presently en route to London and will start navigating on the capital's streets in the near future with trained human specialists behind the wheel.
The company – initially established as a derivative from Google's self-driving car initiative and part of the same parent group – explained it would scale up activities and work closely with the UK transport authorities and Transport for London to secure the necessary approvals to offer totally self-driving services by 2026.
