This young athlete boasts substantial online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known supporters as she makes her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates numerous international courses and regularly plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa practically suggested to compete and have fun," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments recently and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she's able to get advice from golf legend, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He is the best player worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He told me to compete, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
Kai will face some of most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, including world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials stated that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, especially reaching youth audiences.
Kai boasts a massive following and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
