The President Calls Families of Attacked Military Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Community members assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to support public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy caused the government to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
