Lautaro Martínez Double Ensures Inter on Tail of Frontrunners
Inter forward Lautaro Martínez scored a late brace to secure his side a 2-0 victory at Pisa, keeping the visitors very much involved in the Serie A title race despite a less than convincing performance.

However, they were made to battle throughout by newly-promoted Pisa. The hosts created numerous chances, but a clinical Inter broke the deadlock in the 69th minute mark when Argentinian Martínez drilled a first-time shot into the roof of the net. The attacker then finished from close range with seven minutes remaining.
Inter’s ability to convert despite pressure was decisive in earning three points.

Across in Spain, Real Sociedad mounted a dramatic fightback from 2-0 down to level at home against Villarreal, only to lose to a goal five minutes into stoppage time. Villarreal’s scoring came from Ayoze Pérez just after the half-hour mark and Alberto Moleiro in the 57th minute, but Carlos Soler quickly pulled one back and Ander Barrenetxea leveled the score three minutes from time. However, Moleiro had the final say late in added time.
Later on La Liga fixture, Real Madrid travel to Girona requiring a victory to go back to the top above Barcelona, who recorded a 3-1 win over Alavés on Saturday.
