Miami Heat claimed a overwhelming 146-114 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in their first basketball match since player Terry Rozier was arrested over alleged illegal gambling.

Bam Adebayo top-scored with 24 scores and afterwards stated Terry had the team's full backing.

"We stand behind him. Full support," Bam stated. "We are with him all the way. He's like family at the end of the day."

"Our thoughts are with him and our care for him as he goes through the situation."

The Trail Blazers additionally secured their initial match since the detentions, with Brazil-born Tiago Splitter taking over as interim coach in Billups' non-attendance and leading the team to a decisive 139-119 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

"We all had positive times with Chauncey and how he coached," Splitter said. "Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones but our focus is on the game."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' over Arrests

"Nothing is more critical to the NBA and its fans than the fairness of the game," he told a broadcaster. "Therefore I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."

Silver also said an league probe into Rozier's conduct in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he participated for the Charlotte Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he added.

"We investigated the matter and were open about it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, couldn't find anything.

"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can take various actions that the league office is unable to.

"Therefore, we've been cooperating from that point. Naturally, what they announced yesterday was an charge.

"Moreover 30 months later, he still hasn't been convicted of any offense, in justice to Terry.

"Clearly, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a balance here between upholding rights and conducting an inquiry."
