Experience this Remastered Legendary Adventure: This Complimentary Demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Debuts Shortly.

Players eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait too much longer. An exciting demo version will release on the seventh of January, providing a sizable glimpse into the game's beginning segments. Critically, any advancement achieved within this demo is eligible to be imported directly into the complete game upon its eventual release.

Beyond Just a Straightforward Re-release: The Thorough Overhaul

This project represents a comprehensive reimagining of the seminal 2000 role-playing game, originally known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a significant departure from recent series remakes, such as the recently released HD-2D iterations, this reimagining embraces a striking three-dimensional art style. Locales have been crafted to evoke detailed dioramas, with party members sporting a delightful toy-like design.

"Taking into account the 3DS port, the story was still exceptionally long. Therefore, we reached a determination that we wanted to condense the story, [and] craft an experience for modern audiences."

Major Mechanical Changes and Modernizations

The creators have implemented numerous changes to refresh the original experience. This encompasses:

  • Expedited Field Encounters: Similar to contemporary RPGs, low-level foes are now defeated directly on the overworld map without entering a full traditional battle screen.
  • Variable Combat Pace: Players have the option to accelerate battle sequences to quickly get past less challenging fights.
  • New Job System: One completely new character role has been introduced for this reimagining. Additionally, characters gain the option to master a secondary job, significantly expanding customization options.

Such refinements seek to tackle one of the original game's most noted points of feedback: its daunting scope. That original adventure was known to require more than 100 hours to finish. The new version has been expressly designed to refine flow and cut down on any filler.

Mark Your Calendars: Demo and Final Launch Details
