Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early names under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League season.

And both candidates - each of whom have historic links to the club - are among the options to be considered by the club leadership.

The manager is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the ex- Luton Town manager - who made more than 100 of games for the club during his time as a player - is considered a strong contender for the position.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the search of appointing a fresh manager.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a surprise candidate, although he would be a surprising choice considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United midfielder is out of work meaning Wolves would not need to pay any compensation.
