Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's success, the gifted actors also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by critics.
