The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard season average
Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - rather than the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season
Miami have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the New England, they're one of three eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?
You can pick holes in New England, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, just like the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to success
The defense is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this year on his first score
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is available for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored forty points to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA
Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a game
Both could easily be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding an additional forty-two {receiving yards
