Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
